About the event
In this beginners Swedish weaving embroidery workshop, you will be guided through learning some basic stitches and work a small band that can be made into a card, bookmark or needle case or similar. You will also be shown how to vary the design and how it can be used to create larger pieces. No embroidery experience is necessary.
Swedish weaving or Huck embroidery is a type of folk embroidery that was used to work beautiful borders on table and bath linens and clothes such as aprons. Although its origins can be traced back as far as the 17th Century, it has a wonderfully contemporary quality to it that makes it an ideal, if somewhat addictive hobby for today.
